My aim was to create a classic horror series with a modern look and create a loose visual thread to join books that span more than hundred years and different styles: from gothic to cosmic horror.

I wanted to use the currently trendy green and pink colour combination along with a stereotypically horror-coded font Gandur to mix messages. What inspired this series the most was the protagonist of the Jane Austen novel Northanger Abbey, Catherine Morland. She was very keen on gothic literature  and these days she would be on booktok. So my direction to myself was to make covers for a Catherine reading Udolpho today.
